Ekaterina GrigorievaHow did you decide to create your blog on TikTok?
In the summer of 2020, I started my blog on TikTok, it seemed to me that this platform suited my personality type, temperament and interests. Back then, TikTok was not as popular as it is now, so this was a great opportunity to prove myself. I knew what I do best - I talk a lot and joke. This became the main feature of my blog.
At the time, I was working at a language camp with children and suggested that they make a video for TikTok together. I made a few posts, and in 3 days my blog had 10,000 subscribers. The hardest thing when you start out right away is not to lose your momentum and not to succumb to unexpected fame. My videos were getting 100,000, 200,000 and even more than 1,000,0000 views. At the time, I didn’t understand what to do with such rapid growth.
Thanks to my education and experience working at events, I was able to accept my success correctly and remain a simple person who loves to create and whose creativity people like. I graduated from the St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture, my specialty is a director of theatrical performances and holidays.
What helped you quickly develop your blog?
In blogging, it is important not to become a hostage to one image. When one video becomes popular, it seems that you have found a formula for success, and if you shoot other videos in the same format and with the same images, the blog will only grow. But this is not true - the public needs to be constantly surprised. I myself faced this problem when I started blogging. Then I shot videos on the popular topic "continue the song", the content gained views, people subscribed to me. But after some time, I noticed that the blog stopped developing, new videos did not come, my audience did not perceive other content.
I realized that I needed to move on. I let go of the history with views and started to come up with new headings, try different formats. This helped to attract more subscribers. Now I also continue to experiment with content. Every day I monitor social networks, world news, study new functions in video editing programs, watch reviews on how to improve video quality. I think about ideas for the blog constantly, even while shopping in the store. As a rule, a blogger works around the clock, reads a lot of information, generates ideas and creates content.
